Dr. Jisha John

Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine

Dr. John, MD is an associate physician at  Northeastern Ohio Infectious Disease Association Inc. and is affiliated with Salem Regional Medical Center.

Dr. John completed her internal medicine residency at the Mercy Health/NEOMED program. During her residency, she received many accolades including:

  • Youngstown State University BSMD Class of 2013 Outstanding Resident Physician
  • Resident Teacher of the year 2011- 2012
  • Annual Medical Student Teaching Award 2010
  • Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award 2009

Her passion for clinical teaching allowed her the opportunity to become chief resident of Internal Medicine. During this time, she completed her Academic Medicine Fellowship at the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). In the year following, Dr. John completed her infectious disease fellowship training at DMC/Wayne state University. She completed various research projects and papers during her fellowship and participated in basic research on cytomegalovirus. Double board certified in Internal Medicine and infectious disease, she joined NEOIDA in 2015 as a full-time physician. During this time, she was the physician leader of the antibiotic stewardship committee at Mercy Health Youngstown and East Liverpool city hospital. In addition to her love of clinical medicine, she loves teaching. Dr. John is also an avid reader who enjoys music, movies and the outdoors. Her dream is to own a blueberry farm.
